僕の友達の息子さんが、アルミ玉作りにハマっているという。

アルミホイル1ロール分を丸めて、叩いて、ひたすらヤスリを掛けたり、磨いたりする。

You can make an alminum ball from a roll of alminum sheet. You squeeze it, hit it with a hummer, and polish with polishing paper.

Why was I so excited to see the dull light reflecting the ball?

何度も何度も、時間を掛けた行為でできた光を尊く思ったのかも。そして、そのワクワクって、神様が僕たち人を見る時に感じているのかなとも思った。僕たちが叩かれたり、削られたりするような経験を喜んでいるはずはないけど、それを通してなされる人格形成にワクワクしている。一回の回心で、スーパースターになるのよりも、時間を掛けた日々の経験を通し、ご自分と似た人格に成長してほしい。それが神様のこころのような気がした。

I might have felt the light created after a long painstaking process as precious. At the same time, I thought that God may be feeling the same excitement as He sees us. Of course, I don't believe that He takes pleasure in watching us stamped or grated. However, I felt He may be excited to see our character development through such experiences. He doesn't want us to be superstars just after one repentance. I felt that He wants to coach us day by day so that we can eventually develop a character like His. I felt that is His heart.
